Art for Freedom: Unseen Civilians is a series of art exhibitions held in Ukraine and across Europe, using art to unveil the hidden realities of the war in Ukraine. This initiative seeks to draw urgent attention to the illegal detention of Ukrainian civilians by Russia.
Thousands of individuals—city mayors, priests, students, and ordinary citizens—have been forcibly abducted, held in inhumane conditions, with their whereabouts often remaining unknown.
The project aims to share these harrowing stories with an international audience, raise awareness of these grave human rights violations, and call on the global community to take meaningful action.
As part of this initiative, 10 graphic stories have been created and widely shared to spotlight these crimes, celebrate the resilience of the victims, and inspire international solidarity.
